Dr. Lapenna Elisabetta is a Contract Professor of Cardiac Surgery at "Vita-Salute" San Raffaele University.. She is the Head of the Atrial Fibrillation Surgical Division at the Cardiac Surgery Unit, San Raffaele Research Hospital. Tutor of the medical students and trainees in cardiac surgery, member of the Multidisciplinary Heart Team for Arrhythmia surgery, Endocarditis, Valve disease. She performed over 4,000 surgical procedures as the first or second operator, mainly related to mitral and aortic valve, ascending aorta, CABG, L-VAD implantation and surgical treatment of atrial fibrillation, most of them with minimally-invasive/thoracoscopic technique and over 100 peer-reviewed papers published in International Journals on mitral and tricuspid valve repair, minimally invasive surgery, surgical treatment of atrial fibrillation, functional mitral regurgitation, non-transplant surgery, L-VAD and stem-cell therapy for congestive heart failure, treatment of refractory angina using spinal cord stimulation.
