Biography

Born in Vernasca on 05.06.1950, resident in Turin.
1976: Degree with full marks in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Parma.
1980: Specialization in Neurology at the University of Parma with a mark of 70/70 cum laude.
Professional path
• 1974-76: Internal physician at the Neurological Clinic of the University of Parma.
• 1977: Practical hospital training in the disciplines of Neurology and Psychiatry
• 1977-79: Assistant Neurologist in the Neurology Division of the Civil Hospital of Vicenza.
• 1981-1997: Assistant Director of the Neurology Service of the Hospital of S. Daniele del Friuli.
• 1997-2010 (Sept.) Director SOC Neurology Gervasutta Hospital ASS No. 4 Medio Friuli in Udine, leaving the service due to voluntary discharge.
• 2004-07: Adjunct Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Florence (Department of Biotechnology).
• 2011-today Neurologist Specialist at the Italian Center for Ultrasonic Medical Diagnostics (CIDIMU) Turin as well as Health Director of the same Institute.
• 2012 Neurologist Consultant at SOC Neurology Arcispedale S. Maria Nuova Reggio Emilia (FISM CCSVI and SM study).
OTHER EXPERIENCE
• Coordinator and Head of the REMEMBER Epidemiological Project (Prevalence of memory disorders in the general population).
• Co-responsible of the Italian cohort of the GENERALE Project study (Coordinator Prof. J. Salonen, University of Kuopio, Finland).
• President of the SINV (Italian Neurovascular Interdisciplinary Society) from 1998 to 2001.
• Coordinator of the Italian Stroke Forum Regione FVG 2005-10.
• Vice-president of ALICE Udine (Association for the fight against stroke).
• Coordinator and Head of the Epidemiological Project S. Daniele (Prevalence of carotid plaques in the general population: risk factors for atherosclerosis).
• Author of about 100 Italian and foreign publications.
• Translator and editor of the Italian Edition of "Pratique du Doppler" Ed. Masson Paris (Piccin Editore Padova).
• Co-author of the book “Neurosonological Evaluation of Cerebral Venous Outflow” Springer Verlag 2013 (Malferrari, Prati, Zedde).
