Prof. Şafak Sahir KARAMEHMETOGLU, M.D., was born in Rize on 03/01/1956. He attended primary schools in Paşabahçe and Halide Edip Adıvar primary schools and he had secondary and high school educations at Galatasaray High School; he was graduated from School of Medicine, Istanbul University in 1982. He completed his residency education at Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Cerrahpaşa School of Medicine in Istanbul University in 1990. He worked as instructor, assistant professor, associate professor and professor at the same school (1990- 2016). He was Chief Doctor of Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty Hospital (2009-2012) and Vice Rector of Istanbul University (2012-2015). In 2016, he retired and worked at Nobel Medical Center (2016-2017). He has been working at Emsey hospital since July 2017. He is married with two children and has good command in French and English.
