Biography

Doctor Viktor Ivaniš was born in 1984, in Rijeka. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Rijeka and acquired the academic title of Doctor of Medicine in 2010. Since 2013 he has been a cardiology specialist in Thalassotherapia Opatija, and since 2019 he has been working as a cardiology specialist. He has also been the leader of the working subgroup for sports cardiology of young cardiologists of the Croatian Cardiac Society since 2018. He is also the President of the Management Board of the Institute of Emergency Medicine of County of Primorje and Gorski Kotar since October 2017. He continues his education at home and abroad with an emphasis on sports cardiology.He is also an active athlete; when he was younger, he played water polo and basketball. He currently plays football in the veteran league for FC Medicinar. He enjoys sport fishing, surfing, running half marathons and is also a licensed scuba diver. In February 2017, he was a member and physician of the ‘Arctic Breath team’ which successfully broke two Guinness records in free diving under ice with fins in the horizontal distance in the Austrian lake Weissensee. He was also doctor of the 'Himalaya breathless team' which in November 2017 broke the world record for free diving in the Annapurna Massif at 5200 m above sea level.
