"Prof. Antonio Montone, a plastic surgeon in Rome, is currently a freelancer and practices his profession at four well-known private health facilities in Rome. Until 2009 he served at the Division of Plastic Surgery and Burns Center of the ""S. Eugenio"" Hospital in Rome where he was Medical Director in charge of the High Surveillance Operational Unit from 11/06/2002 to 31/07/2005 and Medical Director in charge of the Complex Operational Unit of the Large Burns Center in Rome from 01/08/2005 to 06/04/2007 as well as Head of the management of ""Burns and related pathologies"" in Maxi-Emergencies on the Regional Territory. He is still a consultant plastic surgeon for the Libyan Embassy. From 1980 to 2013 he was a lecturer at the School of Specialization in Plastic Medicine at the University of Rome ""Tor Vergata"". He has taught in 29 professional refresher courses in Plastic Surgery. He has carried out teaching activities, on behalf of the Department of Experimental Medicine and Pathology of the University of Rome ""La Sapienza"", as part of the Master of Higher Education in the Critical Health area for health professionals in developing countries. Former lecturer at the Italian Academy of Tissue Repair of the University of Florence. Former lecturer at the ""Scuola Medica Ospedaliera"" in Rome. Former lecturer at the ""USL RM 17 School of Nursing"". Former lecturer in charge of the Ministry of the Interior c/o ""Fire Fighting Schools VV.FF."" in Rome. Former consultant c/o C.I.M. (Ministry of Foreign Affairs). In November 1989 he was on a mission to Iran (Kurdistan). He was the first to organize and carry out (February 1987) in central-southern Italy, the transplantation of human skin cells (keratinocytes) reproduced in the laboratory. Speaker at many national and international congresses and scientific meetings related to the specialty. He has so far published 66 scientific papers in Italian and international journals.
