Dr. Carlino Mauro is the Director of Clinical Ward and Assistant Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Lab and Vascular Interventions directed by Professor Antonio Colombo, at the San Raffaele Research Hospital, Milan. He performed over 20,000 percutaneous coronary procedures as the main operator mainly related to complex lesions, particularly in chronic coronary occlusions (CTO). He is also proficient in the full spectrum of Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) techniques, including left main intervention, rotational atherectomy, bifurcation angioplasty, bypass graft interventions. Dr. Carlino described several techniques for CTO interventions that have been adopted by the global community and are now routinely performed worldwide (e.g., so called "Carlino technique").
